Suzuki SX4 achieves best Suzuki result to date - Just in time for Egypt launch
Suzuki driver, Toni Gardemeister has secured valuable points for his team at the Swedish Rally – part of the 2008 World Rally Championship - held in Sweden from February 8-10, 2008 on a Suzuki SX4 WRC. Gardemeister claiming 7th position meant that Suzuki secured two driver points and three manufacturer points, making it the team’s best result to date.
Gardemeister’s performance follows the good show put up by teammate P-G Andersson in Monte Carlo two weeks ago – this means that a Suzuki SX4 WRC has taken points in both rallies held so far in the 2008 World Rally Championship.
“Suzuki’s performance at the World Rally Championship has been improving consistently, and the latest achievement by Toni Gardemeister in Sweden is testimony to the Suzuki SX4s excellent reliability and performance,” said Tomoyuki Shimazaki, Deputy Staff Manager, Middle East and Africa, Marketing Group (Automobile).
This success will surely have a positive impact on the sales and image of the SX4 in several Middle Eastern markets where it had been introduced recently. In Egypt both hatch-back and sedan versions of the Suzuki SX4 were introduced for the first time by Suzuki's importer Modern Motors (Seoudi Group) during the Formula Al Ahram Motor Show 2008 last January.
Round three of the 2008 World Rally Championship takes the Suzuki team to Mexico from February 28 to March 2, 2008.
